CHAPTER 1 PROJECT--PICTURE THIS
Chapter 1 Project was assigned on Tuesday, September 16th. In Activity 1, students use a geoboard and geobands to create a design. They identified segments, endpoints, intersections, and collinear and noncollinear points. In Activity 2, students will use a compass and straightedge to create a geometric design. In Activity 3, students use paper folding to make the design from Activity 2 more complex. In Activity 4, students will create string art. Students may use posterboard with thread or a wooden board, nails, and thread. Students may copy the design from Activity 3 or create a new one.
CHAPTER 1 PROJECT IS DUE FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 26TH.

1-3 Measuring and Constructing Angles
We discussed vocabulary words and their definitions that students wrote down in their flip book. Students created a foldable with the types of angles. Students found pictures in magazines depicting acute, right, obtuse, and straight angles and categorized them on the bulletin boards hanging in the room.
Students were asked to complete page 24 11-32, 41-45, 51-58. Extra Credit is page 27 47, 49.

1-2 Measuring and Constructing Segments
Today, we learned how to find the distance between two coordinates on the number line. We used a compass and constructed congruent segments. We use patty paper to create a segment bisector. Students learned about the segment addition postulate and midpoint of a segment.
The assignment is page 17-19, 11-18, 22-23, 31-32, 36-39, 45-53. Extra Credit problems are on page 19, 40-44 even.

1-1 Understanding Points, Lines, and Planes
We continued learning about points, lines, and planes. We discussed real-world examples and how to name points, lines, planes, segments, rays, and opposite rays. Assignment--page 9-11, 13-21, 39-42, 47-51

Lesson 1-1 Understanding Points, Lines, and Planes
8/26/08
Today, we are learning about the three undefined terms in geometry--point, line, and plane. We wrote down definitions, pictures, and real-world examples of each. Students labeled points, lines, and planes around the room and also discussed how marshmallows and toothpicks depicted points, lines, and planes. No assignment was made.
